Carolyn and I have been serving Jesus in the world of golfers for many years. Because golf is often a wealthy, leadership laden sport, part of our life/ministry mission includes bridging the gap between the wealthy and the poor, marginalized, persecuted of the world. Jesus came to proclaim Good News to the poor, liberty to the captives, sight to the blind, liberty to the oppressed and proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor (Luke 4:18, 19 and Isaiah 61:1-4).

Over ten years ago, a close friend of ours was incarcerated and we began visiting the prison. Through this relationship, we have met many, many others who have been imprisoned, some rightly, others falsely. We have seen firsthand the struggle of inmates being releasedĀ into a society in which forgiveness is neglected and change is not accepted as a possibility.

We’d like to help, through the vision of Hope Farms, to help released inmates who really want and deserve a second chance-golfers refer to this as a Mulligan-have that opportunity. Therefore, we are giving our time and efforts to serve on theĀ board of directors.
